To arrive at St. George, the Norwegian Majesty must navigate the path through the coral reef that surrounds Bermuda. This reef is what wrecked many a ship back in the pirating days and age of exploration on the seas (and there are many diving excursions to such wrecks available). Then she sails through the Town Cut which is a path cut through rock that allows the ship entrance into St. George's harbor. The sides of the ship are literally only feet away from the cliffs. It's an amazing site! As we pass through the Town Cut, Bermudians come out to greet us. Every week, they line the cliffs and stand on their porches to welcome the Majesty back. The Town Crier rings his bell shouting "Welcome to Bermuda!" It's a lot of fun. Unfortunately, this year it rained heavily just as we entered the Cut. Laura and I were soaked, but we still had a great time. I eventually sought cover because I had my camcorder with me, but Laura stuck it out. (so much for fun in the sun! - lol) St. George The little bridge in the photo below leads to the Town Square. The Norwegian Majesty is located in this one spot during our whole stay in Bermuda. There was more rain this trip than the last one, but we did manage to have some sun... What We Did We took a tour, organized through the ship, and met two really nice couples. As part of the tour, we traveled to the Crystal Caves, the Perfume Factory, the Glass Blowing Factory, Fort Hamilton, and the city of Hamilton itself. Laura won at the slot machines at the Casino on board and later stayed up all night to watch the sunrise with a new friend. The next night, Laura, Brett, and I took a late night stroll down to Tobago beach about a mile from the ship (yes, at night -- I have yet to see a Bermuda beach during the day). We, also, went snorkeling again which was a lot of fun. Laura has yet to go parasailing though (another excuse for a return trip) because it rained again the day we were leaving Bermuda (the same day Laura was set to go parasailing!). Below is a picture of the entrance to the Perfume Factory. Around back is a beautiful, smelly (in a really good way) garden full of all sorts of plants and flowers, etc. It looks almost like a jungle.
