Bermuda 2000:People We Met

The good traveler has the gift of surprise. -W.Somerset Maughan (1874-1965), English writer

Traveling is more than just seeing sights and eating well. It's also about meeting new people, both locals and fellow travelers.

Adrian and Tom

Adrian and Tom are two of the Dive-In instructors on the Norwegian Majesty. They take you out to scuba or snorkel and make sure the sharks don't get you. Actually, they told us there are no sharks in Bermuda, at least none have been spotted in the reefs in a few years. In either case, they made sure we had a great time. Someday, when the Bermuda video has been finished, I'll upload a portion on the site, and you can witness first hand how much fun they are.

Doran

Our other favorite Dive-In instructor Doran scooped up Laura on a chance meeting the last night on board. I was missing from this photo op. Luckily, Brett was quick with the camera. (photo, courtesy of Laura Condon)

Adrian again

Laura and I are proudly holding our Dive-In Certificates. The Majesty gives you one once you complete one of the excursions (like snorkelling or scuba diving). Adrian, who's from the Isle of Man, signed each of ours in Gaelic. Very cool.

Derek

Derek Lewis is a musician on the ship (one-man cover band). Laura is in charge of selling his CDs so he can retire in Roatan and she can retire in Vermont. He's an avid skydiver, too. If anyone's interested in purchasing his CD, please contact Laura, and she'll be happy to help you out. Each CD not only goes to the Derek Lewis Retirement Fund but also serves as your ticket to one night in Roatan. (photo, courtesy of Laura Condon)

Gian

Me, Gian (pronounced John), and Laura. Gian's the manager of the Internet Cafe on board. He's Australian and is very, very sweet. We had many conversations about koalas and kangeroos with him. He, also, gave us the scoop on the workings of the ship and crew. Very interesting. Unfortunately, we've been sworn to secrecy.
